I am pleased to let everyone know that after many trials and delays, our site, www.aircooledparts.com is up and running. There are many people who have helped get this site up and running, so I think that it is only fair that they should get a mention at the start of our newsletter

First of all, I would like to thank Joe Savard for all of the effort that he has devoted to this site, and my wishes. I can only hope that he gets as much recognition as he deserves. He has understood my inability to understand computers, and how the Internet works. He has even put up with my dumb questions. I know that, at times, I tried his patience and he endured to the end. So hats off to you, Joe!

My wife has been VERY understanding of the hours, and the times that I've gone out of my mind. So to her, I say thanks. Without her patience, this would not have ever been finished. So I think that she should get mentioned, because she has stood by me all of the way. Yep, sometimes a guy gets lucky, when they marry, and I'm one of those. I know that this site will not ever be totally finished, it will grow, and the inventory and product lines will grow.

I would also like to thank the many friends, like Moe, Todd, Scott, Jay, Jim, Rick and my shop customers who helped by giving me their comments and helping me test this thing to get it where it is today. Someone who has friends, is never alone, they are lucky!

Since this is our grand opening, we want everyone to have a little fun. So we are going to have a contest, and everyone who signs up gets a chance to win. No, it doesn't cost you anything, and there will not be any pop-up ads flooding your computer. We are going to just have some fun and you are invited to join in. The contest is simple. If you want to receive e-mails as to what is going on at our site, simply OPT-IN to our Newsletter AirRaves through the Subscribe link (HELP).

Once, you sign up for the Newsletter, you get a chance to participate in the contest. Now, before you think that there is a trick, there isn’t. You can drop out of the newsletter anytime you want by simply clicking on the link to Unsubscribe (Help).

The contest is 10 questions that we deliver to everyone at the same time, via e-mails. No one will know when the actual time of send out is, except me. But I will tell you that it will be on a Friday night or real early on Saturday mourning. The questions are about stock details, parts, year models, and types of changes, or differences pertaining to the Beetle, Bus, Ghia, Type 3, or Things.

We chose to make the questions apply only to stock applications, because there are so many differences concerning hi-performance applications, that there could be too many right answers. The first person who gets the most questions right and e-mails it back in the least amount of time, wins. The winner will get their name on our site as a "guru", and will receive a new Bosch Alternator! I will ship it out to the winner, if they cannot pick it up, free of charge!

I don't expect all of you to get all of the questions right. This is just for fun. When the contest is over, I will publish the right answers to the questions on this site, so you will get to see what the answers are. I will not be asking trick questions, or questions that are hard to understand, that would be unfair. All answers will be from verifiable sources, so there will not be a misunderstanding.

Contestants may use friends to help them, but there is only one Alternator. If you think that this sounds educational, and fun, drop me a line and let me know! I will post a deadline to enter, which should be in about three weeks. If we get a favorable response, we will do this again!

The moose is our mascot, and is just for fun. Remember, if you cannot have a laugh now and then, then life is not fun. Life should be fun, and why not go for it!
